MarvyMod

Ok I had a drive down hobby craft today and had a look round to see if there was anything worth trying to use.

I found a Marvy brush pen.

Image

costs £1.49

It lends it self to a cap each end. ( 2nd cap was just a 5 finger discount job, stuck it on the end and they didnt know when they priced it up )

I then grabed a 3 pack of Zebra Z-grips Max for £2 I think it was
So I could put them in the caps

Image

A grip on each end

Image

Getting them on is a pain unless you know how to do it.
Use a bit of metal to push it up and work it round like you would be a bike wheel.

Looking good. Only problem is its not very balanced yet.

Image

To correct that just stick one of the tips of the Z-max and and bit of blue tak down there and your good to go.

Image

It is 20g's.... ya i know abit on the hvy side but you can do like me and take out the nib and the ink, and then the added balance is not needed and it comes down to 15g

What ya think ?

They also do one thats the same thickness as the flexgrips that I might try next. And that one Is allrdy a double tip so no problem with balance.
I just fancyed trying a thicker shaft one today.

Nice mod. I only follow mods that are
being used by other spinners. Mods
like the RSVP MX etc.

Also, try not to double post, edit the
first post instead.

looks good but, just from the look of it, i would guess there's quite a bit of weight in the middle and perhaps not enough at the ends. maybe not. looks good though - you know i like a ninja, all black , mod ^_^

All the weight in fact is on the ends.

I have done more to the mod, I took 2 tips from some spare flex grip pens and I did abit of drilling etc and got them in each end.
Just straped to ink fills together and bingo, chuck in a couple springs and its a golden.
Also add'ed just 2 simple red bands for somthing to see spining.

Edited OP with the pic's as per request. ^^

Only black barrels as far as I saw, but lots of difo colour caps.
I am currently looking for Clear PVC pipe/tube that I can cut to size, to make a custom barrel, B&Q only had white.
Want clear so I can use an insert then.
